Le Ciel Bleu (Only In JAPAN!)

Le Ciel Bleu is another MMORPG exclusive to Japan it has somewhat a similarity between Ragnarok online and a 2D beat'em up game like Dungeon Fighter. It is published by NHN Japan and Userjoy Japan

The game is set in a world mixed with magic and technology similar to Arcanum or for a more Japanese reference think Zero-No-Tsukaima it offers the basic traditional classes like rangers, warriors and healers with quite a unique one Maid/Butler I cant think of any other game asides this that has this class. open beta in japan started Dec. 3 2009 its been quite some time in Japan and there are no news of it being ported outside. But if you think you want to play this on the Japan servers well your free to try.

Here is a link to guide you to the Japanese registration and the Client

Uncharted Waters Online Review

"10years was definitely a good wait for this MMORPG I have been bouncing around several MMORPGs these past few years and being never satisfied most of the time I am glad this game lived up to what I expected it to be"

The game may sound simple sail the world, trade in goods, or travel and adventure fighting pirates or seek hidden treasures, well actually not really, since most of the MMORPGs story lines are all quite the same meaning defeat the great evil and become a hero of the kingdom. Well Uncharted Waters Online takes a different approach yes there is a main story but the story depends on the nation you chose so not every player gets the same storyline. Other things that impress me are the way the game executes itself and the details it puts with the features.

LIVE THE AGE OF EXPLORATION
No more hack & slash tedious gameplay.
Be the first one to find uncovered ancient historic places and artifacts.
You can become a Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama, or Pirate Drake
Yup! one of the main features I was looking for no more hack and slashing tedious gameplay AKA grinding while the game offers land based it isn't necessary the trade job class doesn't even have to fight the entire game if he choses to. I love the feature of exploration the entire world is your playground you get to find lost temples, not only locations but paintings, plants, animals even treasures new discoveries will increase your fame and is one way to make money in the game reporting your discovery's really gives you a sense of achievement.

HUNDREDS OF GAME OBJECTIVES
More than 75 professions and more than 100 skills to master. It is not just becoming a strongest player in the server.
You can also change one profession to another anytime.
Get back to original gameplay of exploring new place, cooperating or fighting with other players.
Work hard to become a Maestro of certain skill.

Think the game only has 3 job classes at the start your wrong it isn't that basic there are 75 professions each with a unique task so simply put this game probably has the most jobs I have ever seen in an MMORPG and lots of PVP being a pirate and looting fellow players both on land and sea is really fun. and if your not into that kind of stuff you can become a painter, carpenter, chef, chemist, doctor phew!... there are so many choices and sell your services or wares

SAIL WITH HISTORICAL SHIPS
Buy or build your ships such as Hansa cog, Baltic galleon, Spanish carrack, Turkish galley, and English frigate.
Upgrade, enhance, modify, and decorate your ships with thousands of items.

Over a hundred actual ships to choose from you can purchase them all from around the world

STRENGTHEN YOUR NATION TO CONQUER THE WORLD
There are hundreds of neutral cities to conquer to take advantage in economy and politics.
Investing lot of gold into the city is one way to increase you nations influence.
Or just fight with current possessing nation to conquer back a city.

If exploring is not enough you can help your nation RULE THE WORLD! conquering enemy nations ports and capture their cities

OWN YOUR APARTMENT AND YOUR ISLAND (FARM)
Buy an apartment in you city and decorate with furnitures and artworks that you like.
Invite your friends and guild members to chat and play together.
Find an unoccupied island and build your own farm to grow fruits and raise pigs.

One of the best concepts in the game having your own piece of property to call your own and raise farm animals. A great way to rest from all that adventuring

SOPHISTICATED ECONOMY SYSTEM
Economy system in Uncharted Waters Online is very similar to real life.
Trading goods, investment, relationship with politics are involved.
There is no fix profit. Economy will fluctuate time to time with supply and demand of of good.
Tax and customs are applied to the game. Reduce tax by conquering cities.
Hundreds of ways to earn money and thousands of silkroads and spice routes.

OTHER KEY FEATURES
A lot more features are ready in the game such as academic contest, poker game and more.

Well UWO is one game from Japan that I am pleased was finally released and I'm definitely playing this for a long time to come they say the game has 3 years worth of gameplay well I'm sure ill be playing it longer than that for now my quest of searching for a game to satisfy my needs has arrived.

Tower Of Druaga From International classic to Japan only MMORPG...... Darn it!!!!

Tower of Druaga or "Druaga no Tou" in Japanese the game first appeared in the arcades in 1984 a game created by NAMCO it use to run on the old Super Pac Man engine and was a grat classic for its time I had this game for the Super Famicom since in asia we mostly got this console instead of the NES games of this series were also realeased for the Super NES, Game boy Colored, Playstation, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, and the XBOX 360 the concepts of the games were all the same navigate the maze tower and reach the top of the 60 floor tower beat the evil lord druaga and rescue the preistess Ki
An anime series was also released on 2008 Tower of Druaga: Aegis Of Uruk and Tower Of Druaga: Sword Of Uruk (Season 2) which upon watching them became one of my favorite anime series of all time
And one game stands out in the series released on 2009 in Japan The "Tower Of Druaga: Recovery Of Babylim" was released it’s an MMORPG based on the series much of the concept is still the same but since the recent popularity of the Anime series and the news spreading of no IP blocks it’s got everybody jumping in the game
The objective is still to reach the 60 Floor and beat Druaga there are four job classes the Soldier, Scout, Druid, and Mage each job class has a second class and the third class has not yet been implemented
And for the players who are fans of the Anime and want to play the game I will be giving a link below for the guide on how to play In Japan servers but be warned it's going to be a big download and a long patching process but don’t worry since there seems to be quite a number of English speaking players from all over the world playing the guide also contains help/translations with the menus and skill interface
And here it is

Front Mission Online Part of the series lost forever

I just love the Front mission series ever since the PS1 release Front Mission 2 I just got so much into the game that I even back tracked and played the original Super Nes version a few years later they released one for the PS2 though there were two released in Japan Front Mission: 4 and Front Mission 5: Scars Of War sadly we only got 4 and much later on I also got the extended version of original Front Mission for the DS
The Front Mission games are tactical turn based strategy games developed by Square Enix also know for the Final Fantasy series. Revolving around Intertwining story lines and mechs called "Wazners" the stories can get quite complicated but very immersive I just love the story lines though I won’t go to much in depth and focus on theme. They revolve around a the theme of war, love and betrayal and there’s just a mix of cyber punk element which I just enjoy so much
But One game stands out in the entire series "Front Mission: Online" the game play was totally different and when I found out about it I totally wanted to play that game.
Front Mission: Online The game starts out you customize your basic mech also choose a nation there are only 2 factions in the game the O.C.U (Oceania Cooperative Union) and the U.C.S (Unified Continental States) then players proceed to a lobby where you can control your character and chat with other fellow pilots. The first battles in the game consist of A.I opponents (training grounds) where you can practice the controls Front Mission: Online combat system is almost similar to "Armored Core" so all battles will be in real-time. When the player feels ready the FUN! begins players will get to battle other players from the opposing nation but unlike armored core the game allows up to 10 battle units per nation so that’s 20 Wazners on the arena fighting in real-time since combat can get very hectic the game has a voice chat system (VoIP) which I really great of giving commands during the fight
As players progress the Faction gives out missions that can be done solo or with a group
Sadly this game was short lived it started beta testing in November 2004, and on May 12, 2005, Square Enix officially released the PlayStation 2 version of the game. The PC version of the game was developed and released some seven months later, on December 8, 2005. Support for Front Mission Online was discontinued on May 31, 2008...... :(
This is one of the games in the series I will never get to play but I can still get a copy for the PS2 as a memorabilia to complete the series and news of Front Mission: Evolved announced last E3 has gotten me all hyped-up to play the game since it looks similar to Front Mission: Online maybe they pulled out to make an even superior version for us to play and I’m looking forward to it XD
Check back tomorrow for another amazing game!!!

Grandia Online a game in Japan for the fans made by fans

The "Grandia Online Game" also known now as "Grandia: Zero" is a prequel to the "Grandia" series set before the "Age of Genesis" or before the first Grandia game. The games story begins as an escapee from a village overcome by a dark force, petrifying the villagers and making the village completely uninhabitable. After escaping players will meet a powerful sorceress named Liete,( From the first Grandia Game) the player learns that similar events are happening across the world, and thus the adventure begins searching for the source
Players will visit familiar locals of the Grandia games and meet NPC which some of them are familiar with there is a lot of lore and fans will find that to be a great treat. Such as the Angel civilization, Spirit stones, and Grandians, Also the two races the Riete race and the Moge race important races in the Grandia series will be making appearances in the game
Something unique about the game is the partner system obtained at the start of the game the player is accompanied by a partner that is completely A.I controlled unlike a pet the A.I levels up and has equipment. Alternatively, the player may choose human controlled partners and form a party of eight players
The combat system in Grandia is all in real-time and mostly similar to the previous Grandia games in the series including the familiar Initiative Point (IP) Gauge, which is used for the game's Ultimate Action Battle System. The gauge, represented as a circle, contains icons representing each character in a player's party, as well as each enemy monster currently engaged. The icons move across the gauge to its end, which allows the player to accumulate combo points that can be saved to unleash powerful combination attacks along with other party members. Special combat abilities called Just Commands can be learned by continually using an equipped weapon, and occupy their own specific hot bar that can be quickly used during battle. As players defeat enemies, they gain experience points that go towards gaining levels, allowing a character to become stronger and face progressively more difficult opponents. The number of individuals in a player's party, as well as the use of computer partners and high-level differences between characters can all adversely affect experience gain
Players can choose from the three major races in the Grandia world: The Humans, Coltas the bushy tailed race, and the Ralgas
The background music for Grandia Online was written by the series veteran Noriyuki Iwadare he composed all the game music for the Grandia series and voices of the characters from various and famous voice dubbers and previous dubbers of the Grandia series like Kikuko Inoue who voiced Liete from the first Grandia an OST has already been released and sold with a special code which you can use to redeem in game items
What a lot of people don’t know is that the Grandia games are actuallymade by fans of the series who were so dedicated and decided to work for the company. It’s amazing the video game industry in Japan I wish I were part of that industry to actually do something you really like and enjoy so much
Though the game has been announced since 2006 and disappeared till recently 2009 the game has been under closed beta testing since then I’m really hoping that this would not be something for Japan only since all the Grandia games have been released on foreign shores and most consoles even the P.C I hope to play this one too someday and add it to my collection since you’ve never played all the Grandia games if you haven’t been able to play this one which is very frustrating XD
"The game should be available in Japan on open beta this spring 2010"

Sangokushi Online more familiar than you think

Sangokushi Online the title make you think huh? Something new? well if your familiar with the US title "Romance of the Three kingdoms" and you’ve been gaming for quite some time it ain't really that new in fact its been first released on the Animga since I don’t know and the first release on the PC was "1985" so yes its as old as Windows.
The "Romance" series of games is a turn based strategy game set in ancient China or Japan using historic figures as the game characters. Earlier versions of the game were just simply statistics based growing a larger army then attacking the next territory but on the VII, VIII and X editions were compounded with RPG aspects, allowing the player to play as a ruler, an adviser, a prefect, a general or a vassal, whereas the player can only control the ruler in other editions. In addition, different characters have various skills to aid them in combat, such as the ability to lure a group of enemy soldiers away from the others or to trick them into retreating. and developing stories they me be fiction or fact (I’m not really knowledgeable in Chinese or Japanese history) that really added more to the game in terms of making it more interesting
With a thousand players, battling it out your screen can get as blurry as this screen-shot (above)
"Sangokushi Online" breaks the tradition of the Romance series it is no longer a turn based strategy game but a MMORPG - RTS game
On the RPG side players choose a clan from the familiar Wu, Shue, Wei (maybe added more later on) forces and then can engage in the RPG elements of the game like fighting bandits, exploring areas, learning, production skills, doing quests. Thus gaining items and experience form NPCs and players develop skills by getting skill experience from using their skills since the level cap is kinda low being level 50
Character development does not end there you may be in the same level but since your skills are more developed you may still have an advantage.
On the RTS side players may choose to join guilds asides from their factions and raid other factions territories similar to "Fantasy Earth Zero" and on a grand scale join the war of factions up to 500 players per faction may join the battle accompanies by generals or heroes familiar in the game series such as Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Sun Quan in battle
The game has many more features such as mounts traditionally horses and boats to explore areas the graphics are excellent making character creation fun since there are quit a number of models to choose from and you can even set the characters height manually.
Its got me quit confused with so many games to choose from why do we get the mediocre (bad for me) games like "Fantasy Earth Zero" there is clearly a similarity in game play but obviously Sangokushi Online is far more superior graphically and feature wise. And with all the games of the Romance series and Dynasty Warriors series being released in the US why not the online game? The servers have been up since 2008 and Fantasy Earth Zero since 2006 why choose the more outdated one? Are they marketing on the "Square Soft" brand? "Koei" is just as famous if not a bit less
Well i may never know and im kinda getting ranty I’m just hoping that this game would be released sometime soon it would be great and yes I would play the game how about you?
"I’m back from my weekend rest ill be posting again on a daily basis as much as possible"

Like my article? Go read the backlogs :)

You realy only get half or not much at all?

The thing is with most Japanese games being released in the U.S the consumers really aren`t aware that the product has a wider development or sequel in Japan. Even the most popular RPG series like Final Fantasy had some of its games unreleased in the US until later on

"Final Fantasy III was not released in the US or actually anywhere else until it was remade for the Nintendo DS last 2006. And when Final Fantasy VI was released in the US its it was called Final Fantasy III It is all very chronologically confusing how the games were released in the US but gamers didn`t really care that much since they were mostly unaware what was going on in Japan"

Well at least we got to see those games one way or the other better late than never. But sadly there are a few that slip away into the great unknown and disappear forever leaving us with just a few screen shoots.

Ever heard of the "Tales" Series of RPGs maybe you have or haven`t the series has spawned many games such as "Tales Of Destiny, Tales Of The World, Tales Of The Abyss" etc... and probably has more titles than the final fantasy franchise and probably know just as much they even have several anime series base on some games and some independent stories

Well i want to focus the attention on one series in the game "Tales Of Eternia" this game was released on the Play Station 2001 and was rereleased for the Sony PSP on 2006 I remember having it on the PS1 but never touched it until it wa rereleased on the PSP where i eventually finished it. The game was excellent one of the J-RPGS that really got me immersed the story line, the cinematics, the gameplay, I enjoyed every bit of it

Then I recently discovered that there was an MMORPG "Tales Of Eternia Online" (yup NAMCO actually did make a MMORPG) I was like wow! I wanna try that out but later on discovered that the servers were only up for a year and had to close due to low registered users

Darn! well that’s one game ill never get to play well at least i can talk about it "Tales Of Eternia Online" the story of the MMORPG is actually intertwined with the RPG. The MMORPGS events occur around the beginning of disc 2 (PS1 Version) just after Reid`s (Main Character) party crosses over into Celestia from Infernia. the game also follows the MMORPG element of being able to choose your own character class they are modifications of characters within the tales series or the none MMORPG game
(kenshi) - Swordsman - Characters modeled from Rassius Luine. Masters of melee combat, their high physical attack power is a welcome addition to any party. They have the capability to wield a variety of weapons, such as swords, long swords, daggers, spears and axes.
(Senshi) - Warrior The only character class that could equip shields, their high defense and party-oriented defense skills make them an almost indispensable frontliner in every party. Male versions are modeled from the ToE main character Reid Hershell
(Seijou Reijutsu-shi) - Cleric. The female versions are modeled after Meredy. This class specializes in recovery and status-enhancing magic.
(Majou Reijutsu-shi) - Mage. The male versions are modeled after Keele Zeibel. This class specializes in devastating magic attacks.
(Kakutou-ka) - Fighters. This class is modeled after Farah Oersted. The high agility of this class allows them to dodge attacks and perform combos with ease. They also have a limited arsenal of recovery skills

The combat system is very unique especially since the "Tales" series follows a 2-D or 3-D real-time combat system the encounters are not random like a traditional console RPG but clicking or going into contact with the enemies avatar will initiate the combat system. since the game is directly based on "Tales of Eternia" the combat system is similar with the exemption of a yellow aura on the sides of the screen which prevents other players from interrupting unless the combatant pushes the panic button to allow the player to enter and help

If the RPG game did so well on the Playstation and even was re-released on the PSP it makes me think why did the inline version of the game not do so well? There were plans to bring the game to the US but eventually was canceled so we’ll never know sadly.
Now i feel like I only finished half the game and this other half will be lost forever anyways Check back in a few days for a new article I’m taking the weekends off ; )

Master Of Epic why only in Japan till now???

Being an Otaku and a Hardcore gamer I am mostly disappointed. Why? because I have recently watched an Anime series called "Master Of Epic: The Animation Age" and later on I found out that the Anime series is actually based on a Japan only MMORP Called "MASTER OF EPIC"

Master Of Epic was released in Japan on April, 1 ,2005 and until now is exclusive to Japan players only it was produced by Hudson Soft but the Anime made by GONZO has been shown over different countries on TV networks even here in my country.
The game is set on a traditional medieval fantasy world but in Japanese anime style. The story revolves around the three major factions
Diaros: Elgadin, County of the Dragon Knights who esteem law and order
Bisque: Country where according to the Lal Fac Faith, various clans are given the freedom to regulate themselves
Sasool: Country where therianthropy (metamorphosis of humans into animals) plays a leading role
These countries vie for control of the Noah Stone that the Mora Clan relinquished. It is said that any nation that has control over the Noah Stone will flourish. An evil character named Igo has executed a plant for the nations to wage war on each other so he may obtain the Noah Stone for himself and eventually he rules. This has become the fate of the Future of the War Age.
3,000 years after the rule of Igo, The Future Age
The beginning of everything, 45 Million Years Ago, The Chaos Age
Passing From one age to another and back again, surmounting numerous battles, Will the adventurers be able to prevent the coming age of darkness?
The story is quit complicated but interacts with the game play because players will be playing in different ages the present age, war age, future age, chaos age

The game has 4 unique selectable races Newtars, Cognite, Elmony, and Pandemos

Elmony, Cognite, Pandemos, Newtar

Not only are the races in the game unique but a lot of elements in the game play. Master Of Epic has no levels instead the player can choose from a extensive list of skills, Job classes are not chosen but earned on how you decide to level up your skills or how you combine them
another amazing feature of the game that i have yet to see in other MMORPS are the presence of hunger and thirst it affects your combat abilities if you don’t feed your character and flies start to gather around you character if you don’t wash your hair for sometime
With the Anime being shown all over the place I’ve been left thinking. The game looks great and has a lot of unique element why has it never left Japan. Well I may never know i can only wait for someone to pick this up hopefully on an international server

Bored? go watch the Anime (Master Of Epic: The Animation Age)
