Basic Trade Routes in Uncharted Waters Online
============================================
Starting out nowhere to sell this and that or what trade skills to match here is a guide for you!
Short distance trade with handicrafts/cooking/sewing/casting for beginner profits (exp/fame not first priority)
1. Very good trade route is Antwerp-Den Helder.
You need at least level 3 cooking and level 3 handicrafts and level 1 sewing.
Let's say we start at Helder, buy all chicken - pluck feathers (sewing1, Fabric Secrets - Hardwares book, bought in Amsterdam for 5000D), buy all sheep - make lamb (cooking3, Livestock secrets - Sheep book, 8000D Amsterdam), sell lamb to market keeper (profit of 40-60k in couple of minutes). Even better if you have cooking level 5 and can make sausages (level 5 recipe from the sheep book). Then make sausages and sell to market keeper - even better profit. After doing that sail to Antwerp, sell feathers (or you can sell feathers in Calais nearby for better exp/fame), buy all wheat and pork (if you have level 5 cooking - then buy pork).
Make Akvavit from wheat ( handicrafts 3, book Brewery Secrets from Hamburg for 10000D) and sausages from pork (cooking 5, book Livestock secrets - Pigs, 8000D from Porto). Sail back to Helder and sell everything. Repeat :) It's quite good early money, can make several 100 000's per hour this way. But it gets boring quickly.
2. Bergen - Oslo if you have Historical Crafts Guide book.
Bergen has Rye and Lumber, while Oslo - Wool and Lumber.
Go to Bergen, buy Rye and Lumber, make Vodka (handicrafts 3, brewery secrets book) or Whiskey (handicrafts 4, same book), and make Wooden figures from Lumber (handicrafts 3, Historical Crafts Guide book, 400000D investment in Cairo). Now sail to Oslo, sell everything there (can make some 80-150k profit easily), buy Lumber and Wool in Oslo (Lumber->Wooden figures). Make woolen cloth (sewing 3, book Fabric secrets - Cloth, 10000D Antwerp/Helder) or knitted cloth (sewing 4, same book), even better flannel (sewing7, Fabric Secrets - Fine Cloth, 240000D invest + 100000D price) or tweed (sewing8, same as flannel).
Mid distance trading
1. Spare rudders/Spare sails.
All you need is Casting level 2 (book Shipwright Basics, 10000D Antwerp) and Sewing 2 (Shipwright Basics, 10000D Antwerp).
Sail to Amsterdam, make 400 spare sails(can take up to 5-6 trips to Amsterdam, can sail to Helder, make feathers, lamb, sausages etc for quick profits too as mentioned earlier) - 200 in inventory and 200 in store. Then sail to Oslo (more lumber on sale than Bergen), make 400 Spare rudders.
Now the problem is that in North Sea area the price for these has fallen a lot. So you'd need to sail to Lisbon to sell sails (1.5-1.6 ea, 350-400k profit, but no exp), and search for a place to sell rudders (don't really know in Europe as I always sell my rudders in Luanda when going to India or so. Can sell sails here too). So all in all you can make 700-800k profit easily, but will get no exp for it.
2. Velvet to Northern Europe. Basically buy all velvet in Genoa/Pisa (now sells it too), max price would be 4000-4500 per unit, the lower the better.
In NE you can sell it for ~5500-6000, so it is a profit of 1000-2500 per unit. Usually if I can't buy it for 4000ea I don't bother.
3. Diamonds/Gold/Ivory to Northern Europe. You can buy these in West Africa, after some investment. Problem is these sell in small amounts, 4-6 in each market with no trading skills. So metal/gem trading is a must for it to be really effective route. For example you can buy diamonds for 2.5-3.5k in Luanda and sell them for 9-10k in Northern Europe. Great profit. Cons: need West Africa permit, which is 6000-8000 fame depending on nation
4. Silver/Gold dust/Caribbean specialties/Ginger to Northern Europe. Need port permits of course.
This is the route I am experimenting right now with, as going to India takes 3 hours of sailing there and back.
Silver is attractive as you can buy it for 1.2-1.5k in Santo Domingo, and sell for around 4000 in Northern Europe. Also with precious metal trading skill you can load it up quite quickly with sailing to San Juan and back.
Another great commodity is Ginger, can buy it for 250 or so in Jamaica, sells for 2000-2500.
Also every specialty except peanuts can get you around 1000-1500 profit per item, good exp and fame. Thats cacao, tobacco, tequila, pineapples.
There is also expensive dye in Jamaica, thyrian purple or something, can get around 3000 profit per item (buy for 4000 sell for 7000).
With trade job I get around 5000-6000 exp per route, and it takes only 1.5-2 hrs at most, earning 1-2m profit (largely depends on goods transported).
Bring Northern Europe specialties to Caribs, or just Dutch Calico for max profits (sells for 1500 profit per item or so).
5. Antique art/Damask fabric/Turkish carpets to Northern Europe.
If you can buy these for good prices (till 110-115%), can sell for 2-3k profit per item in Northern Europe.
The problem is that sailing to Beirut from Amsterdam takes a lot of time, Caribbean is a better choice imo.
Long distance trade
One word - India :)
The ultimate trade route, takes ages, but profit is too attractive to resist.
When sailing to India, you can earn around 1-1.5m with Europe->India trip.
When going back, the profits are insane.
For example sold Ruby/Sapphire for 15k ea in Antwerp yesterday. Can buy these for 3-5k in Ceylon.
Other great goods: Cat's eye, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper, Aventurine.
Gem trading is very helpful, also spice trading would help too.
Need lots of fame to get permits though.

How to use shared storage
============================================
Its the most expensive item in the cash shop and people are a bit hesitant to spend so big so I will explain how it works clearly
its 19,999NC and only lasts 30 days
you get 999 storage for trade goods but you can only set it to 1 town 1 type of trade good also eats 1 slot of the 50/50 space if you want to use variety of different goods, additionally it gives you 50/50 space for items/goods which can be recovered from any bank and 1 ship can be stored. but to transfer the storage to another town/register it, the storage needs to be empty and the only single town registered is the place where you can recover the goods you can't make goods magically appear on the next town
ship storage / stow allows you to store 1 ship you can retrieve it from any bank
notice how the cannons (goods) on the upper left also eat one space of the 50/50 and 7 of the 999
50/50 slot does not allow non trade able items to be transferred like guild cards but ducats are okay to move to your alt

Setting aide duties
============================================
I will try and do a little more explaining about aides and their duties there is a lot to be know about them and I have noticed the community has a lot of questions I will try my best to guide you starting with the basics.
Setting Aide duties as you can see from the aide information screen there 6 traits that may be raised to unlock aide skills.
Knowing the effects of the duties are important to since there is no explanation in-game I will make one here.

The Noob Adventurers Handbook to XP
============================================
Adventure is the hardest class to lvl in UWO both in any stage of the game and is usually the last to be maximized by expert players because it is very time consuming and there is no way to speed the process if you are playing alone.
This guide was original made by starcrossed I did not follow it but it is very useful and correct.
How to gain quick experience and fame as a beginning Adventurer:
This can be done solo but has better results in a group as you get nearly twice the fame if you all turn in the quests at once.
Step One - Getting to Athens:
Prerequisites:
Quests/Jobs:
All three Intermediate schools complete so that you have the three Adventure job permits
500 adventure fame, which you should get from the schools.
Helms person for skills.
Skills:
Recognition
Geography
Spanish
Portuguese
Once you have the prerequisites, you will need to take a trip to Seville so you can begin what many of us call the 588-91. This refers to the quest rewards that the quests give, 58,800 ducats and 9,100 ducats respectively. You will need to go to the Adventure’s guild and speak to the Mediator to begin one of these quests.
588 - The Middle of the Atlantic
This quest gives a reward of 58,800 ducats. All it requires is sailing west from Seville until you find an island chain that consists of three small islands known as the Azores. Once you are amongst them, you use recognition to ‘discover’ the islands. You then return to Seville and turn the quest in, netting a few hundred exp and fame as well as 58,800 Ducats.
91 - The Tip of the Iberian Peninsula
Because you cannot repeat a quest, you need a filler quest after you do 588. This quest is normally a quest to Faro for 9,100 ducats known as the Tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is quick and will allow you to start 588 again quickly. However, if this quest is not available any quick quest to Malaga or Lisbon also works to speed up the process. You will need to do this until you reach 2,000 adventure fame.
Step Two - Raising Archeology
Prerequisites:
Quests/Jobs:
Excavator
Skills:
Archeology
Unlock
For step three, level 4 Archeology is required. The quickest way to do this is to head to Genoa. In Genoa there is a level 1 geography quest that takes you to Naples to speak to the scholar and then find an item in the Naples melee combat zone. Once that is done, you can turn the quest in at the Tavern and pick up an Archeology quest that sends you back to Genoa to speak to the Scholar there. This quest sends you back to Naples to dig another item. You will need to repeat this process till you have level 4 Archeology.
To maximize this process, you should be in a group. Pick a person to go first to discover the item. Everyone else stands back far enough that they cannot discover the item yet. This person with get between 20-40 proficiency. You then allow a second person to come dig while the original person stays in place. The second person and the first person obtain 20-40 proficiency, allowing the first to now collect 40-80 proficiency in one trip. You do this until everyone has discovered, then next time allow someone else in the group to go first. Take turns, work together.
An alternate way to do this step is to reach level 2 Archeology, then repeat the Archeology school quest to Tunis repeatedly in a group until you reach level four. This, however, requires you almost be finished with Advanced Adventure school.
Step 3 - Arriving in Athens:
Prerequisites:
Quests/Jobs:
2,000 Fame
Skills:
Arabic - Can learn in Genoa Merchant GM
Greek - Can learn in Naples Merchant GM
Treasure Appraisal - Can learn in Lisbon Adventure GM
Unlock - Should have learned when switching to Excavator
This is the final step in fame farming for beginners. With this quest line, in a group, you can easily obtain 10,000-15,000 fame in just a few days of constant, determined farming. Possibly even 500-1000 an hour if you do it right.
You will need to go to Athens. In Athens you will need to pick up the quest the Sultans. This quest will send you to Beirut where you must speak to the Scholar. The Scholar will send you into the Alexandria wilds to discover something. Turn this quest in at the Alexandria Tavern and pick up Mourning a Greek Tragedy quest which takes you back to Athens to speak to the Scholar and discover something in the Athens wilds. You can run these two quests repeatedly and make possibly 100,000 ducats every 30-60 minutes while gaining massive fame and experience.
Edit: Sultans requires Appraisal level 4, Unlock level 2. If you do not want to level that you can alternately get Town Dedicated to Love from Athens to Famagusta.
Things to note:
Any nation can do this.
Quests that send you to a scholar normally require you to read a book.
This method may not be for everyone as they may get bored repeating the quest lines

The Venice Chicken Secret...
============================================
The nation with the earliest money advantage Venice if you decide to start in this nation money will be no problem to you all you have to do is pluck chicken to become a millionaire.
The stuff needed to start your chickeny rampage:
1. Livestock Trading Rank 2
2. Fabric Secrets - Hardwares (can be bought in Item Shop -Amsterdam, Lisbon, London, Marseille, Seville, Venice)
3. Sewing Rank 2
4. Food for Vigor
Trade Route: (Eastern Europe - Venice starters can get an advantage)
Zadar to Ancona (Vice-Versa)
Goods To Buy:
Chicken (Zadar & Ancona)
Goat (Zadar)
Things to do:
Pluck the chicken and Process the goat to obtain Feather and Mo Hair respectively.
Sell the Feathers/Mo Hairs in Ancona. Feathers will give you additional trade experience and fame while Mo hairs got a high selling value. Continue doing this until you are satisfied with your Trade level/Fame or Ducats earned.
PS: Try to pluck chickens as many as you can to produce many feathers before selling it to obtain more exp and fame.
Note: To save up in using foods for vigor try to visit the Taverns and buy some food and drinks. Also, give some drinks to your sailors to increase their loyalty.
and that's it once your sick of chickens you can explore the word of UWO in your nice and new shiny ship
============================================
The Traders Equation
============================================
Know you know how to be a Spanish merchant and gain money, but what about leveling up? Well that's easy one of the best players in UWO taught me none other than Dary. This is how he showed us
Basic Profit Exp = {(profit + merchant lv + 1) / (merchant + 1) / 100 }
Gloss exp =
- Basic Profit Exp * 4 (if over 100k)
- Basic Profit Exp * 2 (if over 10k but less than 100k)
- Basic Profit Exp * 1 (if less than 10k)
Specialty exp = Min( 500 , {quantity* specialty distance * 50 / (merchant lv + 50)})
Specialty combo bonus exp = { (Gloss exp + total of specialty exp ) * (number of specialty goods over 50 quantity -1) / 5% }
Net merchant exp = Gloss Exp + total of Specialty exp + Specialty combo bonus exp
So...
Getting over 10k is your first goal.
Then getting over 100k is your next goal.
selling over 50 quantity of specialty is good. if you have only 45 then get 5 more somehow for specialty combo bonus.
Confusing huh well give it a try! whiskey, pepper, Ruby combo in a Spanish port and see what happens or you can bring muskets and sherry to the Caribbean

The Skill Secret (Part.2)
============================================
Accuracy/Reload/Ballistics
Part.2 of the power leveling skill guide by master Dary
I'm putting off penetration for one reason from here.
accuracy/reload/ballistics gain proficiencies based on number of cannon (slot) you hit whereas penetration gains based on damages you are dealing.
So, penetration is harder to power level compared to other 3. It is said to be more efficient to rank up 3 which ranks up with the same conditions, then rank up penetration with high accuracy/reload or high accuracy/ballistics with good cannons.
The quest you want for this is 104k quest from Tunis (requires R5 gunnery so get someone to help you introduce you the quest if you do not have R5 gunnery). We just want enemies with higher armor so we can keep shooting them without finishing the battle. (+ their shots are week and week in melee so you can reduce their numbers if you want.)
The ship you want will be adv galleon or B.Galleon or T.Galleon. You just need falcon( 8 ) or falcon(2) b/c falcons have high reload and speed (which is accuracy of your shots to give you more proficiencies) and low damage (so you won't kill your precious enemies).
The ideal class is certainly canoneer. If you are not lvl 28 yet then you should get there as quick as possible before you start doing this.
Trading skills -
Im not going to talk much details here but this is a good time to training your trading skills at loss. Like you can trade between Jamaica and Santiago for gold dusts continuously without bothering to bring them back to EU.
This is also a good time to train account skills so better to do more short-distance tradings than long-distance tradings.
============================================
The Skill Secret (Part.1)
============================================
want to know why a lvl.30 maritime player can sink a lvl.40 well here it is UWO ship battle is 50% skill 49% equipment and 1% lvl so player who grind skills instead of focus on levels will give you a big surprise if you think you can just pirate anyone you see along the way
(assuming we have S.America permit)
you get proficiencies on evasion when you dodge shots with evasion on. So the conditions to maximize the efficiencies will be...
1. more enemy ships
2. enemy shots are low in accuracy (no skill + low speed cannons)
3. You boost evasion
4. put cannon evasion figureheads
5. enemy shots shooting against the wind direction. (you can dodge more this way)
the best condition to meet 1 and 2 is considered to be a quest from Rio. The enemies are 10 galleys without any cannon skills with fire cannons. (fire cannons have lower speed which is accuracy)
for 3, you should be able to boost 2 at least.
for 4, you need to buy tons of them from Calicut. To reduce the damage on your figurehead, you should have cheap armors and cannons (like cedar plate + falcon( 8 )
for 5, you need to see the wind direction when the battle starts and position yourself on the edge of the battlefield and continuously getting hit without killing any enemies. The best ship for this is galleon. (T.Galleon or B.galleon or adv galleon any will do) You should only load lumbers to repair yourself while doing this.
The best class for doing this is body guard.
This is a sample data for someone who did this for 17 hours in Rio.
Evasion 4 (750) > 13(10991)
Rescue 4 (1550) > 7(136)
First Aide 8 (1250) > 11(1938)
Repair 11 (800) > 12(7244)
During this time, you will get this in 9 hours or less if you have 30% prof up.
============================================
Different types of cannon shots
============================================
Favoring cannons I know the different shots that they have and for what specific purpose you need them. its also importance since they also affect how you PVP or defend yourself in the game.
1. Normal shot/duel shot
Durability damage dealers. Duel Shot type cannons are normally high-penetration, short-ranged, slow reload.
Dual Shot Ship Skill "armor piercing" can cause "great leaking" to the target. (leaking causes lower armor + great leaking can't be healed with buckets)
2.Flame shot
It can cause fires on targets. The more slots you have flame shots with, the more frequent cause fire.
Not effective when it is raining. Flame shot can occasionally cause explosion which reduces ammunition.
Flame shot skill "armor deterioration shot" is a passive skill to decrease armor of the target during the battle. (only goes down to half. no way to heal)
Aide skill "Enhance Flame Shot" can increase possibility of fire and reduces more water on fire.
3. Smoke shot
can cause smoking on targets. can only recovered by an item which certain NPCs drop or by time. Critical hit cause smoking at 100%.
Ship Skill "Special smoke shot" can cancel effective active skills of the target on critical hit.
Aide Skill "Enhance smoke shot" can increase the possibility of smoking and reduces food of the target.
4. Chain shot
Damages ship parts. High bursts can cause damages to sails and the steer of a target.
Critical hit cause damages on sails or the steer at 100%.
It also halve the sailing speed when critical shot hit on the peak. (good for PKers)
5. Grape shot
Damage to sailors WHEN the durability of the target is less than half.
Critical hit can reduce vigor of the target.
Ship Skill "Burst shot" can cause chaos on the target (stronger version of confusion) at low possibility (critical hit causes at 100%)
Aide skill "Enhance Grape shot" can reduce vigor of the target even without a critical hit.

Guide to a Spanish Trader
============================================
So you want to play UWO here is a guide to help you begin your adventures as a trader. its very important to have money early in this game so you can spend it later if your doing adventuring you wont be spending much but doing battle can be very costly. a typical Spanish trader can make his own cannons and armor so its very ideal to start as a trader.
A path to Money Trader
as explained in the current Spanish situation in the world, we have advantages for cannon casting, firearm and gold trading.Political merchant favors all those skills (precious metal trading, casting firearm trading) but doesn't favor account and the lvl requirement is high. So, at this step we will aim for money trader class that favors metal trading and casting which is enough for us to start making gold bars in Habana.
This is just one way of playing UWO but let's say you are out of newbies Spanish once you are a money trader and can cast gold dusts into bars with reasonable firearm trading to bring firearms to carib.
Milestone goals
- Casting R12+1- handcrafting R5
- metal trading rank 4+5
- firearm trading R6+3
- wares trading R5
- mineral trading R6+3
- luxury trading R5
- account R6+4
- sociability R5+3
- frugality R6
- caution R6
optional (helps increase profits while training core skills)
- weapon trading R3
- craft trading R3
- Spice trading
- alcohol trading R4
Now lets break them down to 10 steps.
1. Aim for 10/7/7
10/7/7 is the requirement for dhow. fastest ship until you get yourself a Sambuk (16/22/16) You will be doing a lot of schooling. Schooling is mostly about sailing, so save your time with ship.2. Graduate adv school
with dhow, you can easily graduate adv school so finish with it. you probably should get yourself adv lv16 galley for better trading after this. I personally think geography/recognition path is easiest. (tho it gives less long term benefits.)3. Aim for merchant lvl of 16 (graduate merchant school)
dhow and galley should help you with most of merchant schooling.this lvl is for a transport galley. Very nice ship for short distance trading until you move onto Arabian galley. (need to learn rowing)
keywords: dhow (10/7/7)
===4. aim for lv 22 merchant as you rank up casting/mineral/wares on mineral trader class in Oslo, Plymouth, Amsterdam, Hamburg.===
Here we start moving toward the goal. this stage is kind of hard until you get to casting R5. Your casting should be around R10 by the time you get to lv22.
Get yourself an aide too.
keywords: casting+1 hammer, mineral+2 earrings
5. Graduate maritime school and continue MT until lv19
Continue with maritime until lv19. You should be able to get permits to India if you do storyline.keywords: transport carrack(5/17/5) nice PC made cannons, mining laying
learn about maritime
6. Chandler on Arabian galley around Barcelona until casting R12
Now, you should meet the requirements for the Arabian galley. awesome awesome ship for any purpose. You will love it so much. (its kind of hard to buy from the PC market. you might have to camp in Hormuz)Become chandler and work on trading skills (especially firearm) and brash up ur casting to R12 here. (probably be lv28 merchant lvl too)
if you get to rank12 before you get to lvl.
you can optionally go India to learn spice trading before you start this step if spice is something you want for good.
The key item: firearm+2 earring (4m Hormuz), Arabian galley
7. Merchant lv28 then become money trader.
first become accountant to learn metal trading and luxury trading(if you haven't learned) Buy metal trading+2 boosts.you get the quest with metal trading R5 requirement in Santo Domingo to get the card money trader. (maybe keep it)
keywords: gold armor, gold earring (from Zanzibar)
8. Handcraft rank5
this step should be really easy if you have come so far.9. Optional step: get gem trading.
if you have some to help u get the quest in India. Having gem trading help you loading agates to protects markets for selling golds better. done! just become a money trader and keep casting gold from dusts in Carib to sell in EU. Oh, don't forget to invest 1m to unlock the recipe at craftsman in Habana.keywords: big transport carrack
in my opinion, you don't need Xebec for Caribbean trading (combination of trading galleon and Arabian galley will do it better.)
Join our Spanish gold casting union to share information about ports to sell gold bars!
Bon voyage!

Melee VS Cannon Comparison
============================================
Dary is the leader of the Armada he sure is a smart guy! He knows a lot of stuff and is a veteran player even before the UWO global servers. He teaches us a lot of stuff and this is one of the lessons we had when we were still noobs. ^^
Melee is better than cannons for:
1. rare item hunting
You can only plunder rare items though melee combat.
2. privateering to plunder
You can steal goods with cannons when you privateer PC, but you can only steal items with plunder.
3. last longer to grind
Because you can steal food/water as you grind, you can keep grinding as long as you do not keep losing your sailors.
4. big advantages for 1on1 in PvP
In 1on1, the opponent has no way to heal their sailors while doing melee. It takes so much time to heal up sailors after retreating.
5. Lower cost on items
The durability of cannons can really go down fast. Whereas, melee goods last quite long. (and generally cheaper as long as you do not go for very expensive melee items)
6. More Ducats per battle
You plunder money as well so you get more money than winning with cannons.
7. More fame per battle
Extra fame is given when you kill all sailors of a ship.
Now, cannons are better than melee for:
1. better for more than 1on1 PvP
Because in this game, you can only do 1on1 to go melee with, automatically cannons have higher chance to kill a ship in a short time. This becomes more predominant as numbers of players involved increase.
2. More exp per battle
As long as you have good cannons, generally (still depends on kind of enemies you are fighting with) you make more exp efficiently than melee.
3. better for PKK
Normally PKers are good at melee. It is risky to fight them in their game. AND, they might not to have good plating. (to catch merchant ships) It is very easy to sink a ship without good plating. When you PKK, you just need to beat him however to win the bounty.
4. Less risk to grind
When you are grinding with melee-style, you occasionally face some accidents and end up losing. You do not have that problem when you are grinding with cannons.
5. Save one active skill slot
Melee-oriented players have almost no choice but to sail on galleys. Galley requires rowing to be switched on while sailing or battling (You actually should switch on and off rowing to turn or accelerate). You can only three active skills switched on. And one of them is occupied by rowing almost always.
If you are cannon-oriented, you wouldn't choose galley with some exceptions. So you save an active skill slot for something good.

Ship cannon guide!
============================================
A bit of warning not all the books are available yet some are only available to top investors now so here's a guide to complete the casting guide also prepared by Star ^_^
Cannons are the most sought after item for soldiers and pirates alike.
A good set of cannons will tear through enemies and players alike, and a master Cannon smith is a profession every guild needs.
However crafting Cannons is a labor intensive job. Most of the high-end Cannons require a lot of raw material, which can only be obtained from a handful of Ports.
These Ports, (Hamburg and Barcelona become well known as Cannon exporting Ports, and players from all over the world travel to these Ports to purchase freshly made Cannons from players.
This guide will provide a complete list of all possible player-made Cannons in the game, arranged by the Recipe books in which they come under.
The location of the Recipe books and methods of obtaining them are also listed, as well as the basic stats of all the Cannons.
-Required Skills
Mineral Trading (mineral trader)
Industrial Goods Trading (mineral trader)
Firearms Trading (arms trader)
Weapon Trading (arms trader)
Casting (mineral trading, arms trader)
Types of Cannon Ammunition
There are 6 types of Cannon Ammunition, each has a different effect. They are:
Standard Shell
Dualshot Shell
Grapeshot Shell
Chainshot Shell
Flameshot Shell
Smokescreen Shell
Standard Shell[
No special effects
Dualshot Shell
Does extra damage to ship equipment
Grapeshot Shell
Targets ship crew. Critical hits drain enemy vigor
Chainshot Shell
Damages ship equipment
Flameshot Shell
Causes fire
Smokescreen Shell
Reduces enemy accuracy
Notes on the Raw Materials for Cannon Crafting
Cannons are usually crafted by combining 2 or 3 different raw materials
The 1st ingredient is either Cannons or Ammunition
The 2nd ingredient is either Ammunition or Bronze
The 3rd ingredient is either Iron or Steel, or in the case of Bow and Stern Cannons, Lumber
The following paragraph details where each of the ingredients can be obtained.
Cannons
Purchased from London, Seville, Barcelona (require investment)
Crafted from 4 x Coal + 4 x Iron using the Firearms Production Technique Book [casting level 11] (Barcelona, Ceuta, 20,000D)
Ammunition
Purchase from Lisbon, Barcelona
Crafted from 2 x Coal + 2 x Iron using the Firearms Production Technique Book [casting level 5] (Barcelona, Ceuta, 20,000D).
Bronze
Purchased from London, Plymouth
Crafted from Copper Ore + Tin Ore [casting level 7] using the Book of Alloy Smelting (Dublin, reward after 300,000D in investment)
Iron
Purchased from London (require investment), Dublin (require investment), Amsterdam
Crafted from Iron Ore [casting level 5] using the Book of Refining Metal (Lubeck, 120,000D)
Steel
Purchased from Barcelona, Beirute, Jaffa
Crafted from Iron Ore + Graphite [casting level 6] from the Book of Refining Metal (Lubeck, 120,000D)
Lumber
Purchased from Oslo, Helsinki
Notes on Ports for Crafting Ship Cannons
Because of the restrictions on the materials required for crafting Ship Cannons, there are only two viable Ports that is suited for crafting Cannons. They are Barcelona and Hamburg.
Barcelona
Barcelona is the ideal location for crafting Cannons because the Port exports Cannons, Ammunition and Steel. Only Spanish players will have the option to purchase Cannons from Barcelona, therefore making Barcelona a Cannon Port exclusively to Spanish players.
Another advantage of Barcelona is that it sells the rare item of Steel, which is needed to craft high end Cannons.
For the recipes that require Iron instead of Steel, Barcelona is a short trip away from Algiers, that stock Iron Ore that can turn into Iron with the Book of Refining Metal.
The disadvantage of Barcelona is that you can't craft Ship Cannons that require Bronze there.
Hamburg
For Cannonsmiths of other nations, Hamburg is the next best Port. However, crafting Cannons in Hamburg takes longer than in Barcelona, because most of the raw materials need to be crafted first.
Cannons and Ammunitions can be crafted from Coal and Iron with the [COLOR="purple"]Firearms Production Technique Book[/COLOR.] (Barcelona, Ceuta, 20,000D)
Coal is available in Hamburg.
Iron can be made from the Iron Ore in Hamburg with the Book of Metal Refining (Lubeck, 12,000D).
Finally Bronze can be smelted by combining Copper Ore with Tin Ore in Hamburg using the Book of Alloy Smelting (Dublin, reward after 300,000D in investment)/
Whilst most of the items for crafting Ship Cannons are available in Hamburg, it does not have Steel. It takes too long to craft Steel from around Hamburg, therefore its recommended to make Ship Cannons that use Iron instead.
Notes of Crafting Cannons
Unlike crafting other materials, when there is a 'big success' you don't receive an extra Ship Cannon.
Each time you can only produce 1 Ship Cannon from the materials.
However, when you do get a 'big success' you will receive additional stats to your crafted Ship Cannon.
A 'big success' cannon will have the following additional properties:
Durability --- +10
Penetration --- x1.04 ~ 1.10
Range --- +1
Reload Time --- +1
Notes on Ship Cannons that sell
In late game, the most preferred Ship Cannons are 14-Gate Carronades. These Cannons do the most damage.
Other popular choices are [B14-Gate Perrier[/B] for increased range and 14-Gate Haiperie.
A cheap alternative is either the 14-Gate Demi-Cannon or 16-Gate Demi-Cannon
[B14-Gate Perrier[/B], 14-Gate Carronades and 16-Gate Demi-Cannon are made from Strengthening of Regular Cannons (all six Capitals, 800,000D after investment) book, and 14-Gate Demi-Cannon and 14-Gate Haiperie are made from the Book of Large Cannon Casting (all six Capitals, 200,000D after investment).
For melee players, Grapeshot and Chain Cannons are preferred because Grapeshot can kill enemy crew, and Chain Cannons rip through enemy sails. The preferred Grapeshot Cannon is 16-Gate Speed Cannon and the preferred Chainshot Cannon is the 16-Gate Angel.
Both of these Ship Cannons are crafted from the Strengthening of Special Cannon recipe book (Calicut, 200,000D after investment).
Finally, some players like to use Flameshot Cannons, because at high level, they can guarantee burning, causing massive damage overtime against enemies.
The Flameshot Cannon of choice is the 16-Gate Draconis or 16-Gate Anne Fehr, both are crafted using the Strengthening of Special Cannon recipe book (Calicut, 200,000D after investment).

Simple Storage!
============================================
I just got this skill a few days ago and found out that it really is important kinda boring to do but one of the late game skills that really matter
Here is the guide made by star I usually follow all her guides but if you are comfortable with another pattern feel free to share
Originally written by and produced by MTC and her leaders. Moved to these forums by demand and complaints of signing up for the MTC forums to view them:
Introduction
Why Storage?
Storage is probably one of the most underrated skills in the game. I say that because most people see Storage as a skill that turns various Fish caught on the sea into Fish Meat. But many people probably wont know that Storage has also two very important Passive Components to it in addition to its Active Component of preserving Fish and Food.
1) High levels of Storage reduces the rate in which your equipment wears down when sailing
2) When you are being plundered by Pirates, the amount of money and Trade Goods plundered by your opponent depends on your level of Storage.
Both of these Passive boosts makes it worthwhile to level up your Storage, especially in late game.
There are two ways to level up Storage, either by using ingredients caught when fishing, or by using ingredients gathered from Landing Areas using either the skill of Collection or Procurement.
Recommended Birth Place
Any nation
Chapter of the Sea
This method is used for levelling up Storage by combining with Fishing.
All the processes require only one recipe book, and therefore taking up less inventory space.
-Required Recipe Book
Book of Fish Preservation (London, Amsterdam, Seville, Lisbon, Marseilles, Venice 5000D
-Required Skills
Storage (fisherman)
Fishing (fisherman)
Level 1 (Sardine >>> Fish Meat or Herring >>> Fish Meat)
If you are in Southern Europe, you can fish for Sardines and make Fish Meat. If you are in Northern Europe, you can fish for Herring
Level 2 (Horse Mackerel >>> Fish Meat)
You can stay in Northern Europe and fish for Sardines and Herring or you can go to the Mediterranean and make Fish Meat from Horse Mackerels
Level 3 (Tara >>> Fish Meat)
Tara requires level 4 Fishing, can are common the North Sea. The best place is south of [/COLOR='green']Oslo[/COLOR] and north of Copenhagen.
Level 4 (Salmon >>> Fish Meat)
In the same place where you fished for Tara, you can also fish for Salmon. Salmon requires level 5 fishing, and it can be turned into Fish Meat to level up your Storage skill.
Level 5 - 8 (Bonito >>> Fish Meat or Sawara >>> Fish Meat)
Bonito can be found between Madeira and Cape Verde. Alternatively you can travel to the Arabian Sea, outside Aden to fish to Sawara. Both fish can be preserved using Storage.
Level 8-10 (Tuna >>> Fish Meat)
Tuna requires level 8 in fishing, there two common spots for Tuna fishing. the first one is below Syracuse or just outside. The other spot is just south of Madeira. Tuna can be processed into Fish Meat.
Level 10+
See Late Game
Chapter of the Land
This alternative method can also be used to level up Storage. Instead of using various Fish as the raw materials, this method relies upon items gathered from Landing areas using either Procurement, or Collection.
The disadvantage is that some of the raw materials require high levels in Procurement or Collection. However, this disadvantage can be compensated if your farm produced these goods such as Nuts and Bark.
-Required Recipe Books
Book of Catering for Travellers (Benghazi, Salonika reward after 200,000D in investment)
-Requires Skills
Procurement (fisherman, biologist)
Collection (fisherman, biologist)
Storage (fisherman)
Notes on Procurement and Collection
Each time you activate the Procurement or Collection skill. It costs 5 vigour per action. The higher your level of Procurement and Collection, the more goods you will be able to collect with one action.
The best Landing areas to use Procurement and Collection is Landing areas outside towns, since you can go back into the Bar to replenish your vigour when it runs out.
The best spots in Landing areas to Procure or Collect items is on the Landmark areas, such as Stacked Boulder or Large Tree.
Level 1 (3 x Nuts >>> Dried Strawberries)
Nuts can obtained through Procurement in many European landing areas. I prefer the Landing area outside Nantes, because you can go into the bar to refill your Vigour when it runs out through Procurement.
Level 2 (3x Nuts >>> Prunes or Egg >>> Chicken/Duck)
You can stay in the location above and turn Nuts into Prunes or you can go to a town that sells Eggs such as Faro and produce Chicken/Duck from Eggs.
Prunes are a Specialty product from the south of France.
Level 3 (3 x Nuts >>> Dried Fig)
Using the same methods as above, turn Nuts procured from Landing area into Dried Figs. Dried Figs are a Specialty product from the Near East and can be sold for high prices in Norther Europe.
Level 4 (3 x Nuts >>> Dried Apples or 3 x Nuts >>> Dried Apricots)
Both Dried Apples and Dried Apricots use the same amount of Nuts. The different is that Dried Apples is a Speciality product of Northern France. So if you are in the Mediterranean, you are better off to make Dried Apples instead of Dried Apricots.
Level 5 - 7 (5 x Nuts >>> Dried Mango)
Since most the recipes in the Book of Catering for Travelers use Nuts as the main ingredient, you can stay in one Landing area and procure Nuts to produce various items.
Level 7 (Nuts >>> Lime Juice)
This recipe only requires a single Nut, but the item produces is not a trade good but a consumable. Lime Juice is used to cure Scurvy when sailing on the sea.
Level 8 (5 x Strange Fruit >>> Red Pepper)
You must be sick of procuring Nuts by now. It's time to move to a new area and start procuring a different. For the next 3 levels, you need to Procure Strange Fruits which is native to the Americas. The best place is outside the landing area outside the town of Merida in the Caribbean.
Strange Fruits require level 7 in Procurement to obtain, and this recipe combine 5 Strange Fruits to make Red Pepper.
Level 9 (6 x Strange Fruit >>> Green Chilli)
In the same method as above, combine 6 Strange Fruits to make Green Chilli.
Level 10 (5 x Strange Fruit >>> Cashew Nuts)
In the same method as above, combine 5 Strange Fruits to make Cashew Nuts.
Level 10+
See Late Game

-Required Recipe Book
Book of Fish Preservation [optional] (London, Amsterdam, Seville, Lisbon, Marseilles, Venice{/COLOR] 5000D
Book of Extracting Dye [optional] ([COLOR=”green”]Merida, reward after 800,000D in investment)
Book of Catering for Travellers (Benghazi, Salonika reward after 200,000D in investment)
-Required Skills
Storage (fisherman)
Fishing [optional] (fisherman)
Procurement [optional] (fisherman)
Collection [optional] (fisherman)
Congratulations on reaching level 10 in Storage. This probably one of the hardest crafting skills to level up. At level 10, your equipments should hardly drop in durability when sailing, and when you get robbed by Pirates, your Storage level should prevent significant losses.
Level 10 is adequate enough, there is no real need to get Storage to 15, but for those who wish to do so, here is how.
Path A
Level 10 - 14 (Tuna >>> Fish Meat)
If you chose the path of levelling up Storage through Fishing, then your best way of levelling Storage above 10 is to process Tuna. There is no effective recipes from level 8 until level 14 where you can process Marlin and Mako for Fish Meat.
Level 14 - 15 (Marlin >>> Fish Meat; Mako >>> Fish Meat)
Marlin and Mako require level 14 in Fishing can be both fished near the Port of Madeira
It's best if you equip yourself with some booster items to both Storage and Fishing so that you can process Marlin and Mako when your Storage level is under 14. This way your Storage level will level up much faster.
Path B
Level 11 (5 Strange Fruit >>> Allspice or 5 x Bark >>> Logwood)
There are more options for levelling up storage when you are using items from the land.
Procure Strange Fruits outside the town of Merida and combine 5 Strange Fruits to produce Allspice.
Alternatively you can use the Collection skill to collect Bark from the same Landing area in the Caribbean and produce Logwood using the Book of Extracting Dye.
Barks require level 8 in collection.
Level 12 (5 x Bark >>> Cinchona Bark)
Collect Barks and using the Book of Catering for Travellers to make Cinchona Bark from 5 Barks
Level 13 - 15 (5 x Bark >>> Cinchona Bark; 5 x Large Leaves >>> Cochineal)
Strangely, Large Leaves only require level 5 in Collection. When you collect 5 Large Leaves turn them into Cochineal with the Book of Extracting Dye and when you collect 5 Barks turn them Cinchona Bark with the Book of Catering for Travellers.
Level 15
WOOHOO!! Your Storage level is maxed. Now you have no fear of travelling on the seas in your best equipment and carrying large amounts of Ducats around. Even when you are robbed, your level 15 Storage would prevent you from incurring any significant losses.
Good luck and sail safe.

Cooking For A Cause!
============================================
Another crafting skill in the game is cooking! It's kinda fun to do but not much rewarding as casting and handy crafts if your in a company its really good to have since its a support skill! expect to have lots of orders
This is another guide made by Starcrossed hope we see her back in the game again.

Introduction
Cooking has always been on of my favourite crafting skills in UWO. On my old server i made hundreds of millions selling items such as Seafood Pizza and Garlic Chicken and the best thing about cooking is that there will always be a demand, regardless of where the server is at. Each guild requires a good cook or two, and if you are interested in pursuing this path here is a simple guide.
Recommended birth place
-Lisbon
-Amsterdam
Portuguese and Dutch players will have the easiest times starting out as chefs due to fact that their ports nearby stock up on all the items required for cooking, and being Portuguese or Dutch would allow them to buy extra ingredients at lower price.
With the introduction of the animal trader job, the food merchant is very much made redundant. The animal trader favours all the essential skills required for cooking, so when you are ready, change your job into an Animal Trader

Path A
Butcher Pigs at Faro into Ham until level 10. (takes roughly a day or two)
Path B
Sail to Genoa to purchase the Introduction to Meat recipe book, sail to Amsterdam for the Livestock secrets - chapter of Sheep book, and make Roast Lamb (more details in the Dutch Cook section)
Level 10 (Wheat >>> Flour; Flour + Fish + Cheese >>> Seafood Pizza)
CONGRATULATIONS, you have made an important milestone, now its time to make some serious money. Either, sail to Fagumasta in the Middle East, opposite Beirut, and invest 1 million Ducats for the Eastern Mediterranean Dishes or if you have a friend from Venice, kindly ask that player to invest 1 million in Venice for the book.
All the ingredients for Seafood Pizza can be purchased at Porto, therefore making Portrugese players the most fearsome chefs in game.
Buy, Wheat, Fish and Cheese at Porto, turn the Wheat into Flour and combine all three ingredients for 1 - 3 Pizzas.
Each Pizza in early game can sell up to 5000D
Level 10 - 15

Time for a trip into Genoa. if you any friends there you can ask them to bring back a book for Introduction to Meats which will allow you to make Roast Lamb in Den Helder.
Path A
Buy Sheep at Den Helder, turn 1/3 of the Goat into Milk, combine Milk and Salt to make Butter, Butcher the remaining Sheep into Lamb, and combine with Butter and more Salt to make Roast Lamb.
This option requires high levels in Seasoning trading to purchase enough Salt and is rather time consuming, but saves the trouble of leaving Den Helder
Path B
But Goat, butcher the Goat into Lamb, buy Salt, travel to London, and buy Butter, combine all three ingredients to make Roast Lamb . This option will allow you to trade between Den Helder and London and perhaps make even more profits.
The Roast Lamb can be sold to players or back to the Item Shop in bundles of 200.

This type of cook combines fishing skill and cooking skill to specialize food dishes prepared using the fish caught at sea. The skill requirements and recipe requirements are much more extensive than other methods, but it does offer a different playing style.
It is essential to first change your job into a Chef from a job changing quest in Stockholm, requirements are level 5 cooking, 3000 trade fame. The quest is relatively easy to complete, simply hand in 200 Wine Steamed Cod, which can be purchased from the Clerk in Amsterdam.
If you do not have enough fame, ask a friend to help you out.
Level 1 - 5
Use the methods described in both the Portuguese and Dutch section above to reach level 5.
Level 5 - 7 (Wine + Halibut >>> Wine Steamed Halibut or Salt + Lumber + Herring >>> Smoked Herring; Wine + Cod >>> Wine steamed Cod)
Path A.
Camp on the sea outside Bordeaux, using the recipe Seafaring food from Lisbon, purchase Winefrom Bordeaux, catch Halibut outside of Bordeaux and make Wine Steamed Halibut. If you catch other fish use storage to make Fish
Path B.
Stock up on Wine from either Seville, Porto or Bordeaux. Travel to Bergen, and camp on the sea outside Bergen, using the Seafood of the North recipe from London, purchase Salt and Lumber from Bergen, and if you catch Herring, make Smoked Herring with Salt and Lumber. If you catch Cod, make Wine steamed Cod. Use storage to turn all other fish into Fish
Path A, is closer to Wine exporting ports, but you will get more fishing proficiency and cooking proficiency if you take Path B.
Level 7 - 10 (Salt + Lumber + Herring >>> Smoked Herring; Smoked Herring + Butter >>> Sautéed Smoke Herring)
Stock up on Butter from either London. Travel to Bergen, and camp on the sea outside Bergen, using the Seafood of the North recipe from London, purchase Salt and Lumber from Bergen, and if you catch Herring, make Smoked Herring with Salt and Lumber. The combine Smoked Herringwith Butter to make Sautéed Smoked Herring.
Level 10 (2 x Olive >>> Olive Oil, Olive oil + Salt + Tuna >>> Tuna Steak)
This is what you are waiting for. That dish costs under 500D to make and sells it 15k each. The dish recovers 80 vigour to all fleet and reduces fatigue by 48. It's the ideal food for soldiers, and you will never be short of a market.
Travel to Syracuse, buy Olives and Salt. Use the Seasoning Recipe book to turn Olives into Olive Oil. The recipe requires Handicraft at level 2, an easy way to get to level 2, is to purchase the Book of Pharmaceutical Preparations at Syracuse, travel to Naples, go outside, use either Search, Collection, or Procurement skill to gather Grass, use the Grass to make Basic Medicine, then returning to Syracuse when you reach level 2 in Handicraft.
Once you have a ship cargo of 50% Olive Oil and 50% Salt, sail to a small island just south east of Syracuse. Use the fishing skill to fish for Tuna (you need level 8 in Fishing) and make Tuna Steak with Olive Oil and Tuna.
Tuna can be fished just outside Syracuse or in the island directly north of Tripoli
This option is not recommended for starting out as a cook and is only really viable when you change into a Chef in Stockholm and have equipped yourself with booster items that add +1 to Fishing and Cooking, as well as a specialist cooking Aide.

Sewing for Success!!!
============================================
This is Starcrossed guide for sewing and probably the hardest to do if you are from south Europe. I do not plan to do this but making sails is very rare and difficult task. You can also use this skill to make various costumes. Once you can make sails you can sell them for a very very high income probably the highest of all crafting skills so its a good investment
Introduction
Sewing was also known on my old server as the 'money printing' profession. The reason being that in regions around India there are ports that supply fabrics and fibres needed to make high-end trade goods. These trade goods such as Turkish Rug and Velvet are all considered Speciality Products from Europe and Middle East. When they are sold in Indian Ports, they make 100%+ in profits + double exp and fame.

Level 1 (3 x Chicken/Duck >>> Feather)
The chicken plucking exploit should be well known now. Venetians can pluck Chicken between Zadar and Ancona, French players can pluck Duck at Montpellier, Spanish and Portuguese players can buy Chicken at Lisbon, English can make Wool in Edinburgh, and Dutch players can go to Den Helder.
Use the Secret book of Textile Materials to produce Feather from Chicken/Duck
Level 2 (3 x Chicken/Duck >>> Feather or Hemp>>> 2 x Spare Sails)
Path A
Southern European players should stay in the Mediterranean and keep plucking Chicken/Duck
Path B
Players from North Europe can sail to Amsterdam, purchase Hemp and use the Introduction of Sewing book to produce Spare Sail, which can be sold back to the Peddler at 1600D, and only costing under 500D to make.
Level 3 (2 x Sheep/3 x Goat >>> Wool/Goat's Hair, 2 x Wool/Goat's Hair >>> Woolen Fabric)
Using the Secret Book of Woven Fabric turn Wool or Goat's Hair into Woolen Fabric.
Spanish players can purchase Wool from Valencia.
Venetian players can produce Goat Hair from Goats in Zadar from the Secret Book of Textile Materials.
French players can go to Cagliari and purchase Goat
Dutch players will have Den Helder which exports Sheep or can go to Oslo which sells Wool.
English players will have a huge advantage as Edinburgh produces both Sheep and Wool, making their levelling twice as fast, but the downside is that you can not sell Woolen Fabric back to the market in Edinburgh, because the town already produces Woolen Fabric.
Portuguese players are encouraged to sail either to Edinburgh or Oslo for Wool.
Level 4 (Wool >>> Knit)
In the same Ports as above, turn Wool into Knit. Edinburgh is probably the best Port to do so, as you can sell Knit directly back to the market
Level 5 - 7 (Wool >>> Knit or 3 x Cotton >>> Cotton Fabric)
Path A
Unfortunately, for Tailors operating out of Europe, there is only one efficient way to level up their sewing from 5 to 7. English players will have the natural advantage of being able to purchase more Sheep and more Wool
Path B
Venetians and French players can choose to sail to Alexandria and Cairo instead of the North Sea. Alexandria and Cairo both produce Cotton, and players can produce Cotton Fabric from the Cotton using the Secret Book of Woven Fabric.
Level 7 (4 x Wool >>> Flannel)
Time for a book change, this time use the Secret Book of Luxury Textile Fabrics to craft Flannel from Wool. A Wool exporting Port is recommended. Usually players go to Oslo or Edinburgh.
Level 8 - 10 (3 x Wool >>> Tweed)
You must be sick of Wool now. But the good thing is all the recipes are from the same book, and you don't have to travel far from the Port where you first started out.
Level 10 (10 x Linen >>> Lace)
Many players leveling up their sewing choose Oslo, because at level 10 they can craft Lace from the Linen purchased there, as well as other products that require Wool.

Indian Chapter
This guide is alternate route for levelling up Sewing. It is recommended for Portuguese players because they can access the Indian Permits the fastest. I highly recommend this route for traders from Portugal.
-Required Recipe Books
Secret Book of Textile Materials (all six capital cities, Craftsman shop) 5000D
Introduction to Sewing (Groningen, Dublin, Plymouth, Oporto, Madeira, Barcelona, Pisa, Genoa, Las Palmas, Antwerp, Syracuse) 10000D
Secret Book of Woven Fabric (Amsterdam, Groningen, Antwerp, Dell ****, Plymouth, Oporto, Malaga, Valencia, Palma, Barcelona, Genoa, Ancona, Zadar, Ragusa, Madeira, Syracuse, Cagliari) 10000D
Secret Book of Luxury Textile Fabrics (all six capital cities, after 200,000D in investment, Crafts shop) 100,000D
Secret Book of Fabric Dyeing (Machilipatnam, Den Helder, reward after 800,000D in investment)
-Required Skills
Livestock trade (livestock trader)
Fibre trade (yarn trader)
Sewing (yarn trader, accountant)
Dye trading (yarn trader)
Level 1 (3 x Chicken/Duck >>> Feather)
The chicken plucking exploit should be well known now. Venetians can pluck Chicken between Zadar and Ancona, French players can pluck Duck at Montpellier, Spanish and Portuguese players can buy Chicken at Lisbon, and English and Dutch players can go to Hel Der.
Use the Secret book of Textile Materials to produce Feather from Chicken/Duck
Level 2 (3 x Chicken/Duck >>> Feather or 2 x Hemp>>> Spare Sails)
Path A
Southern European players should stay in the Mediterranean and keep plucking Chicken/Duck
Path B
Players from North Europe can sail to Amsterdam, purchase Hemp and use the Introduction of Sewing book to produce Spare Sail, which can be sold back to the Peddler at 1600D, and only costing under 500D to make.
Level 3 (2 x Sheep>>> Wool, 2 x Wool/Goat's Hair >>> Woolen Fabric; 2 x Cotton >>> Earplugs)
Like in the European Chapter, use the Secret Book of Woven Fabric to turn Wool or Woolen Fabric.
In addition, to Woolen Fabric, you can also use the Introduction to Sewing Book to turn Cotton into Earplugs
The best Ports to do so is either in Goa, which stocks both Goat Hair and Wool or between the neighbouring Ports of Machilipatnam (Cotton) and Pondicherry (Cotton, Sheep).
Level 4 (2 x Sheep >>> Wool, Wool >>> Knit; 2 x Cotton >>> Earplugs)
Because Goa doesn’t produce Wool or Sheep, its best to sail to the Machilipatnam and Pondicherry area. Using the same route as above except, this time producing Knit instead of Woolen Fabric.
Level 5 - 7 (2 x Sheep>>> Wool, Cotton + Wool >>> Corduroy; 3 x Cotton >>> Cotton Fabric)
Here is why India is so much more superior than Europe in terms of Sewing. the neighbouring ports of Machilipatnam and Pondicherry offer ingredients three crafting processes at once.
Use Secret Book of Textile Materials to make Wool from Sheep, Combine Wool with Cotton to produce Corduroy, and then use any leftover Cotton to make Cotton Fabric.
Both Corduroy and Cotton Fabric can be found in the Secret Book of Woven Fabric.
Level 7 (2x Sheep >>> Wool, 4 x Wool >>> Flannel)
Time for a book change, this time use the Secret Book of Luxury Textile Fabrics to craft Flannel from Wool. Flannel is also considered a Specialty Product from Europe, and therefore can be sold for extra profit in India.
The route between Machilipatnam and Pondicherry is still the most efficient.
Level 8 - 10 (2x Sheep, 3 x Wool >>> Tweed; Wool + Cotton >> Muslin; 2 x Silk >>> Silk Fabric)
Once again, multiple crafting processes using materials easily purchased from the Machilipatnam and Pondicherry area.
Using Secret Book of Luxury Textile Fabrics, you can craft Tweed and Muslin, both at level 8 Sewing, and using the Secret Book of Woven Fabric, you can produce Silk Fabric. Silk can be purchased from Machilipatnam.
Level 9 (2x Sheep, 3 x Wool >>> Tweed; Wool + Cotton >>> Muslin; 2 x Silk >>> Silk Fabric; 3 x Cotton >>> Cotton Fabric, Cotton Fabric + 2 x Indian Blue >>> Chintz)
You can still level up pretty fast using the previous method, you can also add Chintz to your production line. Indian Blue dye can be purchased from Pondicherry after some investment. Using the Secret Book of Dyeing, which can be conveniently obtained from Machilipatnam if you are not Dutch, combine Indian Blue with Cotton Fabric made from Cotton using the Secret Book of Woven Fabric. Sell the Chintz in Pondicherry.
Level 10 (2 x Sheep >>> Wool, 2 x Silk >>> Silk Fabric, 2 x Silk + 4 x Wool + Silk Fabric >>> Turkish Rug)
This process can seem complicated but all the materials are available from the Ports of Machilipatnam and Pondicherry. Its important to have high levels in Livestock Trade and Fibre Trade.
Purchase Sheep, Cotton and Indian Blue from Pondicherry, purchase Silk and Cotton from Machilipatnam. Produce Wool from Sheep, Produce Silk Fabric from Silk and combine Silk Fabric, Wool and 2 addition Silk to produce Turkish Rug. Use the Cotton to make Cotton Fabric, combine with Indian Blue to produce Chintz.
Sell both in Pondicherry.

Late Game
Late game Sewing is exclusively for the Indian region, and therefore Portuguese players should have a natural advantage due to the presence of a colony in India. In addition before you head out to India please stock up on as many Sewing Kits as you can from Europe.
All the late-game recipes are Silk intensive, so you should have high level of Fibre trading skill to complement.
-Required Recipe Books
Secret Book of Textile Materials (all six capital cities, Craftsman shop) 5000D
Secret Book of Woven Fabric (Amsterdam, Groningen, Antwerp, Dell ****, Plymouth, Oporto, Malaga, Valencia, Palma, Barcelona, Genoa, Ancona, Zadar, Ragusa, Madeira, Syracuse, Cagliari) 10000D
Secret Book of Luxury Textile Fabrics (all six capital cities, after 200,000D in investment, Crafts shop) 100,000D
Mode Design Collection Volume 3 (Oporto, Plymouth, Malaga, reward after 1,600,000D in investment, Pisa, purchased at Craftshop for 100,000D after 162,000D in investment)
[COLOR="purple]Secret Book of Fabric Dyeing[/COLOR] (Den Helder, Machilipatnam, reward after 800,000D in investment)
-Required Skills
Livestock trade (livestock trader)
Fibre trade (yarn trader)
Sewing (yarn trader, accountant)
Level 11 (2 x Sheep >>> Wool, 2 x Silk >>> Silk Fabric, 2 x Silk + Wool + 2 x Silk Fabric >>> Persian Rug; 4 x Silk + Sewing Kit >>> Embroidery Thread, 2 x Silk + Embroidery Thread >>> Satin)
It is most important to have purchased as many Sewing Kits as possible from Europe.
To Make Persian Rug, use the Secret Book of Fabric Dyeing, and combine Wool made from Sheep using Secret Book of Textile Material with Silk Fabric made from Silk using the Secret Book of Woven Fabric and an additional 2 Silks.
The other level 11 crafting recipe is for Satin. Satin is produced by firstly combining 4 Silks with Sewing Kit to produce Embroidery Thread using the Mode Design Collection Volume 3, and then using Embroidery Thread with another 2 Silks to make Satin from the Secret Book of Luxury Fabrics.
To level up faster, combine with Chintz recipe.
The best area once again is Machilipatanam and Pondicherry
Level 12 (4 x Silk + Sewing Kit >>> Embroidery Thread, 2 x Silk + Embroidery Thread >>> Georgette)
Georgette is made from the same materials as Satin from the same Secret Book of Luxury Fabrics.
Because Georgette does not require Wool and Cotton, you can feel free to go to other Silk exporting Ports such as Diu and Kolkata.
I would still recommend staying in Machilipatnam and Pondicherry, because you can make Chintz.
Level 13 (4 x Silk + Sewing Kit >>> Embroidery Thread, 3 x Silk + Embroidery Thread >>> Velvet; 2 x Sheep >>> Wool, 2 x Wool >>> Woolen Fabric, 2 x Silk >>> Silk Fabric, Silk Fabric + Woolen Fabric >>> Luxury Clothing)
Velvet was once known as 'printed money' because of the exorbitant prices it could sell in India and the huge amount of exp and fame you could gain due to Velvet being a Speciality Product of Southern Italy.
The process of making Velvet is same as Satin and Georgette, except it requires 3 Silks and an Embroidery Thread instead of 2.
Another item you can produce is Luxury Clothing, made from Woolen Fabric and Silk Fabric.
In most cases you would be using Silk solely for making Velvet.
Level 14 - 15 (Sheep >>> Wool, 4 x Silk + Sewing Kit >>> Embroidery Thread, 6 x Wool + Embroidery Thread >>> Tapestries; 3 x Silk >>> Taffeta)
If you are running low on Sewing Kits, you can craft Taffetas instead of Tapestries, but if you want extra fame and exp, craft Tapestries because they are considered a Specialty Product from South of France.
They both use the same Secret Book of Luxury Fabrics, and Taffeta are much more straight foward and can be produced outside of the Machilipatnam and Pondicherry region, whilst Tapestries require Wool and Embroidery Thread, and the quickest way to make Wool is from Sheep in Pondicherry.

CONGRATUALATIONS !!! You are now the master tailor of 15th Century. There are many, many tailoring books to discover, 8 volumes of Mode Design Books to collect and Special Tailoring Books for each part of the world. You can now make your own elite clothing for yourself and all your friends. You will find tailoring to be one of the most enjoyable professions in the game.
Good luck and sail safe.
Trade Routes - Europe to India
Load your inventory with category 3 purchase orders for Fibres and Sewing Kits.
Load your ship cargo with at least 50 of Specialty Products from Europe and the African Coast. Some of the easier ones to obtain include, Shelly, Vodka, Whiskey, Aquavit (see my guide on Handicraft on how to make Alcohol in areas around Lisbon), Feathers, Diamonds (Seirra Leonne, Abijan, Saint-George, Luanda, Karbib, Cape Town), Germanium (Karbib, Cape Town), Shell Kinoe Kaori (Zanzibar, Mombasa), Orange Oil (Mombasa, Sofala), Frankinence (Jofaru, Aden, Muscat)
Once you reach India craft at least 50 of Flannel (level 7 sewing), Turkish Rug (level 10 sewing), Velvet (level 13 Sewing) and Tapestry (level 14 sewing).
Sell everything at an allied Port and because all the products are Specialty products and you have at least 50 of them, you will receive massive boosts in experience and fame.
Make sure you save 4 trade item slots (the maximum number of trade items you can have it 15) for Flannel, Turkish Rug, Velvet and Tapestry, which you craft in India.
Trade Route - India to Europe
Load your ship with at least 50 of Chintz (sewing level 9), Turkish Rug (sewing level 10), Persian Rug (sewing level 11) Taffeta, (sewing level 14), Pepper (Calicut), Sandalwood (Calicut, Goa), Sapphire (Calicut, Ceylon), Ruby (Goa, Ceylon), Cat Eye(Machilipatnam, Pondicherry), Tea (Calicut, Simorghian), Cinnammon (Pondicherry, Ceylon), Indian Blue (Calicut, Pondicherry), Cardamom (Cochin), Indian Madder (Cochin), Jasmine (Goa), Turmeric (Pondicherry), and sail back to Europe.

Casting Magic!
============================================
This guide was written by Starcrossed while she may be away or no longer active she left us players with a lot of guides and useful stuff we all can use. this is the exact guide written by her I want to share it with everyone due to the forum errors the infamous "Not found (error to origin)" as I post this I have attained R13 casting just enough for Spanish players to cast gold dust into gold bars! and make cannons to and since Spanish ports have metal and cannons its Ideal for any Spanish character to have
Introduction (Words Of Starcrossed)
To me, Casting is one of those love it or hate it crafting professions. The reason i say that is that, the items produced by casting are so industrial. The raw materials for casting favour very specific nations such as England and Spain, and it makes it quite difficult for players of other nations to master.
For Maritime players, Casting is a godsend.
Cannons, Armour and Weapons crafted by master Casters are sort after across the whole game world. Because of the slow wear down of Cannons and Equipment overtime, player built weapons has become one of the most demanded items in game.
A well built Cannon can easily make light work of even the most well-armed pirates.

Travel to Oslo and use the Introduction to Casting to make Carpenter's Tool from Lumber.
Level 2 (2 x Lumber >>> Spare Rudder)
Staying in Oslo, make Spare Rudder from 2 Lumbers, using the Introduction to Casting
Level 3 - 5 (2 x Bronze >>> Bell of Withdrawal or Coal + Iron >>> Bullet)
Path A
If you are an English player, you could travel between Plymouth and London, using the Bronze from both Ports to make the Bell of Withdrawal from the Introduction to Casting book.
Path B
Alternatively, you can also go to Dublin and make Bullets from the Firearm Production Technique Book . The ingredients for making Bullets are Coal and Iron which are both available in Dublin.
You can also sail between Dublin and Plymouth, and add the Bell of Withdrawal to the production line.
Level 5 - 7 (Copper Ore >>> Copper; Lead Ore >>> Lead; Iron Ore >>> Iron, 2 x Coal + 2 x Iron >>> Ammunition)
It's time to move the production line to the Mineral capital of Hamburg.
Here you'll see your Casting level up in a matter of minutes. There are three metal ores, which can all be refined with the Book of Metal Refining.
Copper Ore, Lead Ore and Iron Ore can be refined into Copper, Lead and Iron.
The refined Iron can be combined with Coal to make Ammunition from the Firearms Production Technique book.
Level 7 (Lead Ore >>> Lead, Copper Ore + Tin Ore >>> Bronze, Bronze >>> Bronze Statue/Bell of Withdrawal; Iron Ore >>> Iron, 2 x Coal + 2 x Iron >>> Gun)
In a similar process to above, refine metal ores into metals. Except this time, combine Copper Ore with Tin Ore to make Bronze from the Book of Alloy Smelting.
The Bronze can be used to make Bronze Statue (requires level 5 Handicraft) or Bell of Withdrawal with the Introduction to Casting book.
Iron made from the Iron Ore can be used with Coal to produce Guns from the Firearms Production Technique Book instead of Ammunition.
Level 8 - 9 (Lead Ore >>> Lead, Copper Ore + Tin Ore >>> Bronze, Bronze >>> Bronze Statue/Bell of Withdrawal; Iron Ore >>> Iron, 2 x Coal + 2 x Iron >>> Gun or Copper Ore + Zinc Ore >>> Brass)
Path A
You can choose to stay in Hamburg and make the items from above.
Path B
Alternative you can travel to Lübeck to make Bronze from Copper Ore and Zinc Ore from the Book of Alloy Smelting, which are both available in Lübeck.

Level 9 - 11 (Iron Ore >>> Iron, 2 x Coal + 2 x Iron >>> Gun or Copper Ore + Tin Ore >>> Bronze or Copper Ore + Zinc Ore >>> Brass or 2 x Iron + Steel >>> Two-Handed Sword)
Path A
If you are English or Dutch, you can stay in Hamburg and refine metal ores or make Guns from Iron and Coal from the Firearms Production Technique Book to level up to level 11 casting.
Path B
Alternatively, you can smelt Brass from Copper Ore and Zinc Ore in Lübeck
Path C
Portuguese players can use the Lisbon, Porto route to make Bronze from Copper Ore and Tin Ore and then Bell of Withdrawal from the Bronze.
Path D
Spanish players can travel between Barcelona and Algiers to make Two-Handed Swords from the Weapon Production Technique Book.
Two-Handed Swords are made from 2 Iron and 1 Steel. Iron can be made from Iron Ore in Algiers.
Level 11 - 13 (Iron Ore >>> Iron, Brass + 2 x Iron + 2 x Steel >>> Western Armour or 4 x Coal + 4 x Iron >>> Cannon)
Path A
Spanish players can make Western Armour using the Weapons Production Technique Book from Brass, Iron and Steel. Brass and Steel are available in Barcelona. Iron can be made from Iron Ore in Algiers.
Brass is only available after investment, meaning only Spanish players should make Western Armour to level up.
Path B
Because other nations don't have access to Brass in Barcelona, they can either go to Dublin or Hamburg and use the Firearms Production Technique Book to make Cannons from Coal and Iron.
Coal is available in both Hamburg and Dublin. Iron is available in Dublin, and Iron Ore is available in Hamburg which can be turned into Iron with the Book of Metal Refining.
Level 13 - 15 (3 x Gold Dust >>> Gold)
At casting level 13, you can travel to ports in the Caribbean, and purchase Gold Dust. The ports that sell Gold Dust are San Jose, San Diego and Jamaica.
Gold Dust can then be turned into Gold.
Alternative Level 9 - 15 (Ship Cannons)
Another way of leveling up from level 9 casting to level 15 casting is to craft various Ship Cannons for players. The materials for making cannons are generally Cannons, Ammunition and Iron/Steel
The ingredients for crafting Ship Cannons are all available either by purchase or crafting in the Ports of Barcelona, Hamburg and Dublin.
Because Barcelona is a Spanish port and close to the trade hub of Lisbon/Seville, it gives Spanish players the natural advantage in crafting Ship Cannons
Level 15
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have finally graduated from casting. What a long journey. You now have the ability to craft the best Ship Cannons and Weapons in the game.
Whether you follow the path of the Cannonsmith or the Weaponsmith, you will never be short of firepower.
Good luck and sail safe.

How to raise shipwrecks with Indiana Jones!
============================================
Indiana Jones is a really great adventurer he even invited me for a quest to get gold armor. So when I asked him if he wanted to raise a shipwreck with me he said sure I've never done it before!
Step:1 In raising shipwrecks you can get items to craft ships and give them bonuses, Treasures that can be sold for a lot of money and discovery. you will need two items or two skills if your skill slots are full use the items.
Step2: Go to the place of the sunken ship, the world map of UWO is divided by waters so if you use the salvage skill and the ship is in the wrong place it will tell you it is not there.
Tip: If you have an aide he will say that you are close. If you set your aides duty no lookout and you are close to the target he will tell you that there is floating cargo and that you are very close to it! any aide will do
If you are in the right waters rubbing the map with your cursor will reveal the X mark. In the PS3 version pressing X and □ will show the X mark ^_^
Step 3: When you finally use salvage and hit the right spot your ship will start pulling it up! take care tho depending on how large the wreck is you will take bigger damage! so having repair and carpentry tools is a good idea. Also having a fleet with other players gives you a combo bonus and helps haul the ship faster. they will be given loot also but not as large as the party leaders share.
Step 4: Once the ship is raised use haul skill or haul rope to tow it to the nearest dock. careful now sometimes hauling it in hostile waters enemy pirates will take it or the ship may be damaged when you get attacked or sail rough seas and lose the ship or get lesser treasure.
Step 5: One you reach the dock a new Icon will appear! you can enter the ship but if you are in a fleet wait for everyone to dock before clicking it or they will not be able to enter. One inside you will see some chests better have unlock skill or you wont be able to open them!
But be careful! if you get some good stuff robbers will come aboard and try to take them away!
Step 6: Finished! you have taken the treasure and prevented thieves from taking it away! the party leader now may exit the ship and take everyone with him back to sell the loot!
Tips: Its not always simple shipwrecks that are pulled up sometimes there are ghost ships where you have to fight before you can loot them. Famous ships that have sunk and make good discoveries too can be found some ships even have a time limit before it collapses! so better loot quick.
Hope you find this guide helpful!

Handy Dandy Crafting!
============================================
Players of UWO will notice that you have 3 jobs and any of these jobs can be leveled-up at anytime of the game . Also unlike traditional MMORPGs in UWO any skill can be learned from any job all you need is a guild card. another thing in UWO is that there is a very extensive crafting system from mixing herbs to building ships. this is one of the best ways of making money since most items crafter later-ow cannot be bought from the NPC but from players who can make them only.
Capt-Aki-Chan maybe a great adventurer but little to be known that she is also a great craftswoman!! she can make simple thing like medicine to furniture cabinets
there are a lot of other disciplines like cooking and casting (making armors) that are in the game I believe that one player should at least have one specialty
This is another guide prepared by Starcrossed and I have been using this guide and believe it is the most effective in helping you grind your Handy craft skills
Introduction
Handicraft has always been one of my favourite crafting skills, because of its versatility. It can be coupled with other major crafting skills such as Cooking and Casting and significantly shorten the time to level the other two skills. It can also be complemented with skills such as Procurement and Collection, and therefore turning trash items such as Grass, Sand and Stone into highly valuable commodity.
Handicraft can be used to make trade goods such as alcohol, as well as make Gems from ore collected in Landing areas. It is also responsible for making all furniture throughout the game, and can add valuable boosts to your ship by building Head Pieces and Wooden Armours
Because Handicraft is such a versatile, each nation will have its advantages and disadvantages. Spanish players and Portuguese players will have easy access to, Wheat, Barley, Olives, Cane, Almond, and Wine, French players will have the Bordeaux to Nantes trade route as well as access to the Brewing Secrets Volume 2 from Montpellier, and Dutch and English players will have the raw materials of Lumber and other metal ore and Industrial goods from the North Sea.

Level 1 (3 x Grass >>> Basic Medicine)
One of the biggest problems with Handicraft is that most recipes start at level 2, so at level 1 your options are very limited. You can of course try and purchase a +1 Handicraft Shipwright’s Saw from players, but that equipment would cost about 3 million ducats. The next best thing is try to get your Handicraft to level 2 by crafting level 1 items.
Sail to Nantes, purchase the Book of Pharmaceutical preparation. Go outside the town through the gatekeeper and use either Procurement or Collection skill (on a grassy patch) to gather Grass and turn them into Basic Medicine.
This method can be time consuming if you can’t find the Logs.
Level 2 (Olive >>> Olive Oil; Cane >>> Cane Sugar; Wheat >>> Beer)
If you are Spanish you can sail between either Seville and Faro, and use the Brewing Secrets to turn Wheat into Beer or between Palma and Valencia and make Olive Oil from Olives using the Seasoning Book. Both products can be sold back to the market.
If you are Portuguese, you can sail to the Madeira and produce Cane Sugarfrom Cane with the Seasoning Book, or travel between Porto and Lisbon to brew Beer from Wheat found at Porto
Level 3 (Almond >>> Almond Oil; Wheat >>> Aquavit; Barley >>> Vodka)
Spanish players use the Seville to Ceuta route, making Aquavit from Wheat and Vodka from Barley using the Brewing Secrets book. Portuguese players use the Porto to Lisbon route, making Almond Oil from Almond from the Book of Seasoning, and Aquavit from Wheat using Brewing Secrets.
Level 4 (Almond >>> Almond Oil; Wheat >>> Aquavit; Barley >>> Vodka; 2 x Wine >>> Brandy)
Spanish players use the same route between Seville and Ceuta, this time with the addition of making Brandy from Wine.
Similarly Portuguese players use the route from Porto to Lisbon, making Brandy from Wine on top of the Almond Oil and Aquavit.
Level 5 - 7 (Wheat >>> Whiskey; Barley >>> Vodka or Vinegar, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy)
Sail between Seville and Ceuta and brew Whiskey from Wheat, Vodka from Barley and Brandy from Wine. Now you’ll see why Handicraft is so profitable. Both Whiskey and Vodka are speciality products from the North and can see for quite a lot of money and fame.
If you want less profit and fame, you can turn the Barley into Vinegar with the Book of Seasoning
Level 7 (Wheat >>> Whiskey; Barley >>> Vodka or Vinegar, Wine >>> Wine Vinegar)
Using the same trade routes above, except turning Wine into Wine Vinegar with the Book of Seasoning rather than Brandy.
Level 8 - 10 (Wheat >>> Whiskey; Barley >>> Vodka or Vinegar, Wine >>> Wine Vinegar or 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly)
Path A (Wheat >>> Whiskey; Barley >>> Vodka or Vinegar, Wine >>> Wine Vinegar)
If you are unlucky and do not have friends from France that can help you invest in a Brewing Secret Volume 2, then you are stuck in the Lisbon and Seville area, making Wine Vinegar from Wine. That would be the only recipe available to you until level 10.
Path B (Raisin >>> Wine, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly)
If you are lucky enough to grab hold of a Secret Brewing Volume 2, then its time to make some serious profit.
Path B1 (Raisin >>> Wine, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly)
-Suitable for all players, French players will have greater advantage.
Travel to the Bordeaux, Nantes area in the Bay of Biscay. Once you get here you’ll understand just how just how much of an advantage French players have in terms of Handicraft. Nantes sells Brandy, Bordeaux sells Wine and Raisins. Simply travel between the two ports, loading up on Brandy, Raisins, and Wine. Use Wine to make Brandy, combine Brandy with Raisin to make Shelly. Any leftover Raisins can be made into Wine, and then into Brandy and combined with another Raisin to make Shelly. Everything related to alcohol here can be crafted and therefore making these Nantes and Bordeaux area ideal for Handicraft crafters.
Trade Route (Nantes/Bordeaux >>> Plymouth)
Once your ship has full cargo of Shelly, you can unload them at Plymouth, where Shelly is considered a speciality product, and earning you some handsome exp, fame and profit.
Path B2 (4 x Cane >>> Rum, Raisin >>> Wine, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly)
-Suitable only for Portuguese players
With a small investment in Madeira, you will be able to purchase Wine and Raisin. The disadvantage of Madeira is that unlike Bordeaux/Nantes, there are no nearby ports. If you want maximum efficiency its best to bring category 2 purchase orders.
The process is the same as in B2. Buy out Wine and Raisin. Turn the Wine into Brandy, and combine Brandy with Raisin to make Shelly. Buy Cane and brew Rum from the Cane.
Because your are Portuguese, you will be able to invest in Madeira and purchase extra trade goods.
Trade Route
This trade route is highly profitable and fast. Before you set out from Lisbon, make sure you have in your ship cargo 50 of Feathers (crafted from by plucking chicken with level 1 Sewing), 50 of Whiskey, brewed from Wheat, 50 of Aquavit, made also from Wheat, 50 of Vodka, made from Barley in Ceuta, travel to Madeira, craft at least 50 of Shelly, and some Rum if you have cargo space.
Once your ship is loaded with alcohol, sail down to Arguin, south west of Madeira on the African Coast. All the items in your ship apart from Rum are speciality items, and by selling them together you will receive Specialty Combo, earning you lots of experience and Ducat.
This Portuguese special trade route can make you a multi millionaire in a matter of days.
Level 10

Luxury item trading (accountant, medicine trader)
Handicraft (medicine trader)
Either one of Procurement or Collection [optional] (fisherman)
Industrial goods trade [optional] (mineral trader)

Industrial good trading (mineral trader)
Handicraft (medicine trader)
Ore trading [optional] (mineral trader)
Casting [Level 7+] [optional] (mineral trader, firearms trader)
Alcohol trading [optional] (accountant)
Luxury items trading [optional] (accountant, medicine trader)
Level 1 – 3 (Lumber + Iron >>> Cedar Boards)
Although, casting is not essential, having casting at level 7 and being able to make Bronze would make the levelling up of Handicraft 10 or more times faster. For details on how to level up Casting, see my guide on Casting. The reason is that you can turn Bronze into Bronze statue and the materials to make Bronze can all be found in Hamburg.
If you wish to master Handicraft and you are from either England or Netherlands, it is highly recommended that you start off with Casting and use Handicraft as a complement rather than head straight into Handicraft.
Purchase as many Iron from Amsterdam as you can and then sail to Oslo. In Oslo combine Lumber with Iron to make Cedar Boards from the Book of Additional Wood Armour.
Level 3 - 5 (Lumber >>> Wooden statue)
The recipe book required for making Wooden Statue is obtained from Cairo. It is best to ask a friend from a Mediterranean nation to bring the book for you. It is a very long travel from Cairo back to the North.
Wooden Statues will sell for quite a lot in Oslo, and this recipe can make you rich very quickly. The disadvantage is thatOslo has no close by ports, so you will have to buy Lumber from other players.
Level 5 – 8 (Copper Ore + Tin Ore >>> Bronze: Bronze >>> Bronze statue)
Bronze can be purchased from ports, but it is much quicker if you use level 7 casting skill and the Book of Alloy Smelting, obtained from 300,000D in investments in Dublin to produce Bronze from Copper Ore and Tin Ore, which are both available in Hamburg.
In this method you can level up your Casting as well as your Handicraft, and you don’t have to leave port.
Level 8 – 10 (Copper Ore + Tin Ore >>> Bronze: Bronze >>> Bronze Statue or Raisin >>> Wine, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly)
Path A (Copper Ore + Tin Ore >>> Bronze: Bronze >>> Bronze Statue)
You can craft Bronze Statues until you reach level 10. You will make a lot of Ducats, but the monotony might kill you.
Path B (Raisin >>> Wine, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly)
You can also use the method discussed earlier in the Mediterranean Chapter to make Shelly in Bordeaux/Nantes areas.

Late Game
Before you start your late game handicraft, it recommended that you have a high level in Collection, at least 6, and even better, if you have farm that was producing the raw materials for crafting. The items needed for crafting late game materials in Handicraft are a pain to gather, and most such as Red Ore, Honeycomb and Vegetable Oil can only be obtained through Collection in Landing areas. Before you head out to collect the materials make sure you stock up on Food items to replenish vigour. If you can produce the required items in your farm, then you can level up quite easily.

Collection (fisherman)
Note the Collection Skill
Collection Skill is a favoured skill of the Fisherman and Chef profession. It can be used to gather material in Landing areas and on the sea. Each time you use Collection it costs 5 Vigour, and the skill is only cancelled when you click on the Collection icon on the screen.
Some items can only be collected in certain areas, and require certain levels in Collection.
The higher your level of collection, the more chances you will have in collecting rare materials and also increases the amount you collect each time.
The best places to collect are Landmark areas in Landing zones. Places such as Stacked Boulder or Large tree yield the most items
Level 10 – 12 [Book of Arts] (Stone material + Lumber >>> Stone Statue)
You can stay in Oslo and purchase Lumber and Stone Materialto make Stone Statue, then selling the Stone Statue back to the market. It is recommended you bring a lot of purchase orders to refresh the market.
Level 10 – 12[Brewing Secrets Volume 2] (5 x Large Leaf >>> Tequila)
Large Leaf can either be produced from your farm or collected in the Caribbean. Just land in any Landing area around the Caribbean, find a landmark and start collecting. You need level 6 in Collection though.
Level 12 – 14 [Brewing Secrets Volume 1 + 2](Raisin >>> Wine, 2 x Wine >>> Brandy, Brandy + Raisin >>> Shelly, 4 x Cane >>> Rum, Rum + Shelly + Honeycomb >>> Treaty Ale)
Shelly and Rum can be easily made in Madeira, see the Mediterranean Chapter for more details. Honeycomb can only be Collected from Landing areas in Eastern Europe. The best way is to Collect a near full cargo of Honeycomb (requires level 1 Collection) and sail to Madeira to make Treaty Ale.
The grass that you collect can be made into Vegetable Oil with the Craftsman Drill Book.
Level 12 – 14 [Skilled Craftsman Drill Book](10 x Grass >>> Vegetable Oil, Vegetable Oil + 2 x Lumber >>> Fine Furniture)
Go to the Landing area outside the gatekeeper in Nantes. Find a Stack of Boulders just outside the Entrance to the West. Use Collection (at least level 5), and collect Vegetable Oil. Grass can also be crafted into Vegetable Oilwith the Craftsman Drill Book.
Once you have a cargo full of Vegetable Oil, travel to Oslo and combine 2 x Lumber with Vegetable Oilto make Fine Furniture.
Level 14 – 15 [Gem cutting](4 x Ore >>> Gem)
Congratulations on making it so far, now is where you can see how 5 Vigour can be turned into 25,000 Ducats. The ores required for cutting gems can be produced from your farm, and that is probably the easiest and best way to acquire them. Otherwise you will have to collect them youself.
For Ruby, Red Ore can be collected (require level 5 in Collection) outside Tunis
For Amber, Yellow Ore can be collected (require level 5 in Collection) outside Stockholm
For Emerald, Green Ore can be collected (require level 5 in Collection) outside Athens
When you go and collect ores, you can cut Stones(10) into Crystals with Stone Cutting Book, and turn Crystals into Glassware with Skilled Craftsman Drill Book
Level 15
Graduation!!! You have mastered the art of Handicraft, you can now turn unwanted objects into prized possession, and with level 15 at your disposal you can millions in a matter of minutes. But wait, there is still something more challenging. Yes with Handicraft, you can also build Furniture for people’s Apartments. These Furniture will allow players to store various items and trade goods in their apartment as well their Skills.
The highest level Furniture is requires level 17 Handicraft, and if you make it, you will become the world’s most Legendary Carpenter.

Removing Pirate Status In UWO!
============================================
Think its fun bullying the traders with your lvl.10 battle on hostile waters. Yeah! it sure was fun until you get bullied yourself I had to learn the hard way!!!
First things first what is pirate status and how do you get it!
- You can get Pirate status by attacking players in hostile waters and sinking their ship
- Players can identify you as a pirate when your name is highlighted depending on the level of your notoriety from light orange to red
- Once you are a pirate any player can attack you regardless of where you are even if your not in hostile waters
- Players may take your gold and items just like beating up NPC pirates!
- Only having a notoriety of over 1000 will label you as a pirate going below 1000 will normalize your status notoriety being the skulls on the lower left of the image
How do I remove it!!!
- Sail and sail a lot this is the only way to remove it for now waiting at ports and in town will do nothing its measured by how far in a day you sail
- Premium item!!! it not yet been implemented :(
Being a pirate is not so much when your level is low so better think twice next time!!!

Aki-Chans Critical Guide!
============================================
In UWO ship battles have critical damage but unlike land battles a ships critical hit is not by % but by skills of the player.
By hitting ether the bow (Front Tip) Or the Stern (Rear) you are sure to have a critical hit. sounds easy but it sure ain't the enemy ships A.I gets better the more you progress.
Ship battles are not just all about having better ships and cannons but it also involves skills as well a level 30 player can beat a level 50 just by having better skills
Note: Skills in UWO level up by how much you use them and not by distributing points as you level-up
